Note to parents!

Your children are in the best hands with a high level of care! Athletes will not be allowed to roam the town or area without a coach or chaperone supervision. The team will be staying together at all times, or in small chaperoned by an adult group. The staff and security at the schools and track are superb and have your child's best interest at heart, so please forgive some rules that seem strict! Our coaches also have first aid training, and chaperones have submitted criminal records checks! We encourage you to be in contact with your child via cell phone, or please send the long distance phone code, there are phones in the schools! Email and computers may be available at some schools.

Team Meeting in Medicine Hat!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all are getting excited for the games, and are ready to go. There have been several questions to the coaching staff regarding events at the games. As we mentioned before, this is a team effort, and all the events are scored based on the top 8 positions!!!! If all the athletes only came and did one or 2 events, we would certainly not defend our title from 2006 and beat zone 6!!! So please keep that in mind!!!

As well, if you have still not picked up your info package, (some of you are on vacation and very hard to reach) please email me!

There will be 3 team meetings in Medicine Hat!

After the staging and accreditation (pick up your ID etc, - the busses will take you straight there) there will be a brief team meeting and tshirt for zone 5 distribution prior to the opening ceremonies. Your coaching staff and chaperones will get you to the team meeting area!

There will also be team meetings for ALL athletes on the start of both track competition days, this means early in the morning, prior to the start of the meet, so be prepared!!!!

Please feel free to disuss event questions with the coaches, and remember, we are not taking a full squad so there are some event holes, and hopefully we can pull together and maximize our athletic skills!

Questions? Please email me directly!

I will be posting bus info for those athletes that have not yet picked up thier athlete packages due to vacation or out of town until the games! (later today)

Thanks everyone! Have a great 2 last days, getting ready and training for the weekend, its sure to be a hot one!

Events - Zone 5 Athletics

By popular demand here are the events!!!!

Please note, as indicated previously, these events may have changed as to the welcome letter you would have recieved, as our squad lost 5 athletes from our team, and congratulate them as they represent Team Alberta at the National Legion Competition in Sherbrooke!

Reminder about the events.

Top 8 placings score towards the team point total. Only 2 athlete entries allowed per event. If you see an event may have an open spot, and you think you can fill it, please email me as we do have some empty event spots as we are not taking a full team! In addition, as previously mentioned, you will notice that you may be doing some events that you do not usually do. This is all in fun, and its great to try new events, and grab some points while you are at it!

Late additions to the team, or alternate replacements may not be doing thier first choice of event. Please remember, that late additions and alternates have to fill the open events on the team, and your personal first event selection may have already been filled by other team members - again keeping in mind only 2 athletes per event. If there are any question, please do not hesistate to contact me!

Reminder - there is a mandatory coaches/chaperone meeting on Thurday July 24th info and location to also be posted today. More team information regarding the games will be available after this meeting, and will be posted on this site so please stay tuned!!!!
